Alumni Voice: My Favourite Life Chapter Called AIU-Varisara Varanurangsee, Mahidol University International College, Thailand
What do you want to experience at AIU? What do you want to become through study abroad?
In this series of articles, we would like to introduce the articles from past exchange students who have completed their studies at AIU. They will share the most memorable experience, what they learned and how the AIU experience helped them now,? and what they would like to tell international students who are thinking of studying at AIU.
The purpose of studying abroad is different for everyone, but we hope that the stories of alumni will encourage you to consider studying abroad at AIU as a place of learning.
Here is a message from Varisara Varanurangsee. She was an exchange student who stayed at AIU in Fall 2018 Semester.
If life is an open book, my favorite chapter would be my time in AIU.
AIU is relatively small, and yes it is what makes AIU so special. Through clubs and activities, the small campus allows everyone to get close and helps students to make new friends very easily. The welcoming party was one of the very first activities that I had at AIU. It allowed me to become friends with other international students that also had their study abroad at AIU. That was when I realized how diverse AIU was. The university did not only gather international students from all over the world but also Japanese students from all over the regions in Japan, including Okinawa and Kyushu. This diversity is what makes it so meaningful as we were able to meet people from different backgrounds, share our cultures, and exchange our thoughts.
During my study abroad in Japan, I gradually immersed myself in Japanese cultures and became close to several friends. I was filled with good memories and precious experiences that I would treasure for the rest of my life. AIU made a deep impression on me, and it is so impactful that it is one of the reasons why I decided to pursue my master’s degree in Japan.
